I’ve never been a big fan of carving pumpkins, I think mostly because they feel so gushy inside. I’ve made my own glossy gourds to add to my 40 Pumpin Projects from last week, no carving knife required. Materials and instructions after the jump!

- Blue Tape
- Glossy Spray Paint in at least 2 colors
- Round Stickers to create Polka Dots
Step 1: Tape the pumpkin stems well with blue tape so they don’t get paint on them.
Step 2: Spray your first coat of paint by first propping the pumpkins on their side and spraying the bottoms. Let dry for at least 15 minutes. Turn right side up and spray the tops, covering well.
Step 3: To make the polka dots, let the pumpkin dry fully for a couple hours and gently press circle stickers onto it. Spray your second coat of paint in a different color. Remove the stickers gently after the pumpkin has dried for at least an hour.
To create the “ombre” affect pictured on the smaller pumpkin. Let the pumpkin dry for 15 minutes after its first coat. Holding it sideways, spray the bottom and half way up the sides with a different color, letting the color fade as you get closer to the top. Let dry for an hour.
Step 4: Unwrap the blue tape and you’re done!
