Glossy Spray Painted Pumpkin Tutorial

How to Spray Paint Pumpkins

I’ve never been a big fan of carving pumpkins, I think mostly because they feel so gushy inside.  I’ve made my own glossy gourds to add to my 40 Pumpin Projects from last week, no carving knife required. Materials and instructions after the jump!

Glossy Spray Paint Pumpkins Step 1: Tape the pumpkin stems well with blue tape so they don’t get paint on them.

To create the “ombre” affect pictured on the smaller pumpkin. Let the pumpkin dry for 15 minutes after its first coat. Holding it sideways, spray the bottom and half way up the sides with a different color, letting the color fade as you get closer to the top. Let dry for an hour.

Step 4: Unwrap the blue tape and you’re done!
